I understand what it’s like to be blighted by physical and mental health issues. In my 20’s I suffered a lot with irritable bowel syndrome, then in my early 30’s was diagnosed with cancer, with treatment leaving me traumatised, fatigued and in chronic pain.

Working in a busy corporate job, there was no time for self care, and my mental health deteriorated, trying to juggle work, family and ill health, resulting in burnout and lost hope for the future.

With conventional medicine resigning me to a life of painkillers, my own holistic journey began. With help from a nutritional therapist and personal trainer and a hunger to help myself, I realised that self-care was a necessity, and small changes were having a big impact on my physical and mental health.

A lifelong passion for nutrition could no longer be ignored, and after 4 years of study, I graduated from the highly respected Institute for Optimum Nutrition.

My mission is to educate and empower you with the benefits of lifestyle medicine, helping you to feel well again, working alongside our amazing NHS. Just as important is to prevent chronic disease with 40% being preventable with lifestyle changes.

I am registered with the Complementary and Natural Health Care Council (CNHC) and a member of the British Association of Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) which ensure standards of care are met and peace of mind that qualifications are robust.

I am also accredited with the Centre for Integrative Sports Nutrition specialising in holistic sports nutrition supporting the long term health of the athlete as well as performance.

Exercise and movement are just as crucial to healthy ageing as our diet.

Applying knowledge to real life supporting behaviour change is just as important and understanding what the body needs. This is why I cemented my coaching skills with the Institute of Health Science in Dublin as a Health Coach. Group coaching can also be a powerful tool for change - get in touch if your work or community needs help in making some new healthy habits.

My own health issues started around 20 years ago with many unexplained symptoms; swelling of my ankles, feeling utterly exhausted, daily headaches requiring paracetamol.

My doctor put it down to working full time, being stressed and having 2 young children to care for. His answer was to give up work - who can really do that? But I felt it was so much more than this.

I began experiencing gut issues; bloating, constipation, sudden diarrhoea, pain with eating some foods. Back to the doctor, but after more tests my GP maintained everything was ok and diagnosed me with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) - a collection of symptoms that GP's can't explain. I was very frustrated, and felt my GP wasn't appreciating how unwell I was really feeling.

I started to do my own research on how food affects the body and mind, how some help the body to heal, and others promote inflammation, and how poorly nutrients are absorbed can keep you feeling sick or unwell.

I was totally fascinated with the power of food, which lead me to the College of Naturopathic Medicine where I studied for 3 years to retrain as a Naturopathic Nutritional Therapist.

With a focus on empowering females from menstruation age to women experiencing the transformative journey of menopause, I use evidence based science to find the root cause of your hormone imbalances to bring harmony back to the body.

Whether you are using oral contraception or HRT these don’t always bring the answers we expect and often cause further health issues to deal with. Conditions I can help with include:
